Pay It Forward for World Friendship Day
Tomorrow marks the 58th anniversary of Friendship Day.
The first World Friendship Day was proposed for 30 July in 1958 and was started by Joyce Hall, the founder of Hallmark cards in 1930 – It was originally intended to be on the 2nd August and a day when people celebrated their friendships by sending cards.
It got me thinking…. How many of us are guilty of having work completed in our homes such as a new fuseboard and have never spoken to our neighbors to see if they have the same issues? Speaking with the residents I meet in Bromley, Bexley and Dartford I know that this is more common than you may think.
Wouldn’t it be great if, for world friendship day, readers of this blog could give 1 piece of electrical advice to someone who may need it?
Simply how to test an RCD - https://youtu.be/rU1MqrT-YNs
how to change a light switch - https://youtu.be/pWzxkd0jkhE
or even not to overload sockets or extension leads - http://www.mtrps.co.uk/socket-overloader/4589860312
It may never happen or, who knows, if just one person can be helped then it has got to be worth it, but remember the next best thing could be to simply leave a card for a qualified electrician who may be able to help.
